Police say a construction worker is in critical condition after falling down a 10-foot shaft.

Authorities say it happened at a property in Williamsburg on Richardson Street, where a three-story apartment building is planned to be built.

Officials say the worker may have suffered head trauma.

The Department of Buildings is investigating what happened.
