Police say a Brooklyn man is facing several charges for seriously injuring a woman with his smart car in Manhattan.
It happened around 10 p.m. Friday in Tribeca. Police say 27-year-old Travis Funes, of Bushwick, was driving his smart car when he tried to make a U-turn at a high rate of speed.
His vehicle spun out of control and struck a 42-year-old woman, pinning her and severing her leg, according to police.
Another man was also struck during the incident. He suffered minor injuries.
Funes is charged with DWI, failing to yield to a pedestrian and refusal to take a breathalyzer test.
