A nearly hourlong police chase from Suffolk to Nassau ended with two people in handcuffs.
John Miller and Annette Bowers were arraigned Wednesday in Central Islip on charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance. Miller was also charged with driving while impaired.
Police say Miller and Bowers, his passenger, stole from Lucky Lotto in Bohemia Monday night. The duo is accused of burglarizing two other Suffolk stores.
When officers found them in a 7-Eleven parking lot in Patchogue, police say they sped off in a van and led them on a 35-mile chase.
Nassau, Suffolk and state police all were tracking the van as it drove on the Southern State Parkway, Wantagh Parkway and Merrick Road. The two were caught at a construction site in Freeport.
