Police: 2 shot in East New York, 1 fatally

EAST NEW YORK -

Police say two men were shot, including one fatally in East New York Sunday, May 26.

They say it happened on the 600 block of Hendrix Street at about 8 p.m.

Police say the vicitm, 35-year-old Sean Smith, succumbed to his injuries on June 30. The incident has since been deemed at homicide.

There were also reports of two other shootings not too far away.

Police say there was a shooting on Pine and Etna streets in Cypress Hills around 9 p.m. They say one person was injured, but there is no word on the condition of the victim.

Officials say there was also a shooting in Crown Heights 20 minutes later. In this case, police say a man was shot at the intersection of Crown Street and Schenectady Avenue.
