Friends and family gather to remember slain 6-year-old
Family and friends gathered Saturday to remember the life of Prince Joshua "PJ" Avitto, the 6-year-old boy who was killed in a stabbing.
He was fatally stabbed in an elevator at the Boulevard Houses in East New York back in 2014. Avitto's friend, Mikayla Capers, was seriously injured.
"He was a sweet kid. I really miss my boy,” said PJ’s mother Aricka Mclinton. “I know he would be a superstar right now. He was such a happy go lucky kid.”
The killer, Daniel St. Hubert, was found guilty at trial last year.
Loved ones plan on carrying on PJ's legacy with a vigil in his honor each year.
