BED-STUY -

Police in Bed-Stuy are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a man who they say made anti-Semitic comments to another man on a subway platform.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident that happened around 8 a.m. Thursday on Gates Avenue and Broadway.

Police say the victim recorded the suspect on his phone who made the anti-Semitic statements.

Police say the 33-year-old victim told them he was standing on the southbound J train platform when the man in the video started an argument with him and then made anti-Semitic comments. The victim says he started recording that man on his phone, and then placed the phone in his shirt pocket before walking away.

Police say the man he had recorded came up behind him and pulled the cellphone from his shirt, before throwing it at an oncoming train and took off running.

Police say the phone bounced off the train and they were able to recover it, as well as the footage.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
