LONGWOOD -

Officials say a man has died after a hit-and-run accident in Longwood Sunday morning.

They say officers were called to Austin Place and Bruckner Boulevard around 5 a.m. There they say the victim, 37-year-old Christopher Nieves, was found lying on the ground with serious injuries.

Police say Nieves was crossing the street when a brown or tan Chevy hit him and fled the scene.

First responders rushed the victim to Lincoln Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have not made any arrests and are still investigating the case.
