Protestors gathered in Bay Ridge Sunday to demand the removal of Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar, calling comments that she previously made anti-Semitic.
The rally was held outside of Rep. Max Rose’s office on 3 Avenue, where the protestors were met with counter-protestors who support the Minnesota congresswoman.
Protestors lined both sides of 3rd Avenue chanting and protesting against each other's views.
Former Assemblyman Dov Hikind is credited with organization the rally and says that Omar needs to be removed from her position on the House of Foreign Affairs Committee after making anti-Semitic comments.
"We all have the responsibility to stand up to hatred and educate those who may be ignorant to how their words can hurt or incite old wounds,” said Rose in a statement.
He did not mention Omar's alleged controversial statements.
