The sixth annual Fourth of July Festival and Fireworks in Jersey City has two big headliners this year -- Pitbull and Jersey City's own Akon.
Mayor Steven Fulop made the announcement this morning on his Twitter page.
The mayor said last year they set the bar high with Snoop Dogg, and they wanted to impress yet again this year.
The full day of festivities will take place from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Exchange Place Plaza.
At noon, people will see the pair perform, followed by carnival rides, food trucks and New Jersey's largest fireworks display at the end of the night.
The event drew over 150,000 spectators last year from throughout the city and region.

Anyone attending the event is strongly encouraged to arrive by foot, bike, or public transportation, as parking will be extremely limited.

Officials say bags and/or backpacks will be searched. They say to use clear bags.
Coolers will not be allowed in festival area.
