Police: 2 Brooklyn men led officers on chase in Westchester County

Two Brooklyn men were arrested after allegedly trying to evade police in a van in Yorktown Wednesday night.

Two Brooklyn men were arrested after allegedly trying to evade police in a van in Yorktown Wednesday night.
During the chase, the driver crashed the van with stolen license plates into trees. One of the trees struck toppled on top of a Westchester County police cruiser. The officer inside the car was not injured.
The driver, identified as 47-year-old Francisco Torres, faces five charges including fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
The passenger, 47-year-old Luis Ramos, faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance when heroin was found in the vehicle and he lied to the police about his identity.
