Some Brooklyn residents ventured outside despite temperatures close to triple digits.
Families still came to city parks to play basketball and stay cool in the spray fountains.
Those at Jackie Robinson Park in Crown Heights told News 12 they like the heat and it wouldn't stop them from enjoying the weekend.
"The weather is beautiful," said Benita Scott of Crown Heights. "It's lovely, it's nice, it's sunny. A little humidity but it's good and everybody's enjoying themselves and I love it."
Officials are reminding people who go outside to stay hydrated, wear loose clothing and put on sunscreen.
