New York City Public Library opens doors for people to beat the heat

The New York City Public Library is opening its doors to offer residents a place to beat the heat.
The chief operating officer said in a statement, "New Yorkers rely on their libraries, not just for the free access to knowledge, education, and opportunity that we offer every day, but also to escape extreme weather like this week's heat wave."
Lyft announced on Sunday that the ridesharing service is offering two free rides for New Yorkers heading to public libraries to stay cool.
