Hundreds of aspiring singers packed the Brooklyn Expo Center Tuesday with dreams of hearing their voices on televisions and radios around the country.
Many say they traveled from other states to showcase their talents in front of "American Idol" producers, who say the audition process isn't an easy one.
The auditions were held on the floor in front of everyone else waiting their turn to audition.
Brooklyn native Bree Mendez, who is moving to the next round, says she'll continue to practice until she has to perform before the celebrity judges.
The show is holding auditions in nearly two dozen other cities.
