Fuhgeddaboudit Food: Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain

It might be 2019, but an ice cream shop in Carroll Gardens is giving customers a step back in time.
Peter Freeman and his sister, Gia, opened Brooklyn Farmacy on Henry Street in 2010.
Their goal was to bring the past to current times, introducing people to treats they may not have had before.

"Egg creams were something that I grew up on my dad taught me about them and I realized there was a whole generation of kids and people that were growing up in New York or having a New York experience without the egg cream,” says Freeman.

The old school shop located in Carroll Gardens is housed in a century-old building that was once an actual pharmacy, taking customers back in time with its decor and of course, its soda fountain and ice cream treats.

"And I've always been amazed how this place has been a melting pot of both its former self as a pharmacy and the melting with the new that is now essentially an ice cream shop,” says Freeman.

The ice cream shops features favorites like ice cream soda floats and fruity sodas.
