The Flatlands Library will be closed for at least four months as it undergoes renovations.
A spokesperson for the library says they want to create more space for visitors.
The current meeting space can only fit 16 people inside. The new room they're building expects to fit 65, according to a Brooklyn Public Library spokesperson.
They also plan to use extra space to create a new multipurpose room for program.
The $500,000 project will also fund a new heating and cooling system. The money used for the renovations will come from money secured by Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein.
Nearby libraries currently open include the Mill Basin Library and the Kings Highway Library.
