Long-time residents of Marine Park in Brooklyn are fed up with what they say is a heavily flooded park.
According to residents, the buildup of water has been excessive. With school around the corner, they are worried about what it could mean for students.
Dan Brogan has lived in the Marine Park neighborhood for more than 70 years and says flooding has been a constant issue.
"Why the water doesn't go down the drains, I don't know," said Brogan.
The New York City Parks Department says it has the funding to make improvements to help with the drainage and will continue to seek funding for a bigger project.
The Parks Department released a statement saying, "Our staff works hard to address standing water by pumping and sweeping large puddles. We will continue to work on immediate and long-term plans to improve drainage in Marine Park."
