Huawei launches 1st product to run on its own OS

Here’s the latest business headlines from Cheddar.

Huawei launched the first product to run on its own operating system. The Chinese tech giant unveiled the Honor Vision TV, which will be powered by Huawei’s Harmony operating system. This comes after the Commerce Department effectively blacklisted the company in May.

Hong Kong International Airport is canceling all of its departures for the remainder of the day. The move comes as protests continue to cause serious disruption at the Asian travel hub. The increasingly violent protests began in June after Hong Kong lawmakers prepared to debate an extradition law that would make it possible to send suspects to mainland China for trial.

GM and Volkswagen are saying goodbye to hybrids. The two auto giants are shifting the majority of their future investments into fully electric cars. GM is planning to launch 20 fully electric vehicles in the next four years.
