St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Academy in Brooklyn is getting ready for students as they get ready to head back to school.
News 12 spoke with the new principal in Windsor Terrace and got a look at how the school is unpacking for students this year.
Principal Stephanie Ann German says it's her first year leading staff and students at the academy and says she is more excited than nervous.
"It will get together slowly but surely. If you saw these classrooms last week I mean we have made modest progress since then," says German.
This includes the delivery and unpacking of more than 100 boxes of textbooks and supplies. Some of the new gadgets include whiteboards, to cover chalk boards and dust.
"Chalk triggers asthma attacks as well, as can be bothersome to students with dust allergies," says German.
She says the academy will be ready to welcome each and every student.
