News 12 gets a sneak peek at Macy's 2019 Holiday Windows

Every year, people from all over the world flock to Herald Square to see Macy's famous holiday windows. Though the holidays are still a few months away, the display is more than halfway complete.
The tradition dates back to the 1870s when RH Macy himself started putting up the animated windows. Macy called it a gift to the city.
This year's magic is coming together in Red Hook, where News 12 got a sneak peek at the display.
This year's theme is "Believe in Wonder." Each window will tell the story of Santa in our hearts, according to Macy's.
"The story is still very traditional, very Macy's, very much about the feeling of the holiday season," says Macy's National Window Director Roya Sullivan. "But the way we treat it is a little bit new and different for our customers. They will be able to kind of be wowed by the materials and the way we executed it."
The windows will be unveiled Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.
