NYPD looking for man after fatal car, machete attack on wife

The NYPD is asking the public for help in locating a man in connection to a homicide that occurred on Ellsworth Avenue.

The NYPD is asking the public for help in locating a man in connection to a homicide that occurred on Ellsworth Avenue.
Victor Mateo, 63, is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 160 pounds and is said to have salt and pepper hair. Police say the 63-year-old man ran over Noelia Mateo with a car on Ellsworth Avenue before jumping out and attacking her with a machete.
Police say Noelia Mateo was getting into her car when her husband sideswiped her and struck her. Police say the man then hit another car, got into Noelia Mateo's car and backed over her.
Police say he then got out, slashed and stabbed her with a machete and drove off in her car.
Police say Mateo was lying face up on the sidewalk and had injuries to her face and body.
Several neighbors tell News 12 they yelled for Mateo's husband to stop and called 911. Neighbors say the two were estranged.
