Massive fire breaks out at Canarsie junk yard

Posted: Updated:

A fire at a Canarsie junk yard resulted in a massive effort by firefighters and EMTs Thursday.

More than 100 firefighters and EMTs responded to the scene at the auto junk yard on Preston Court.

News 12 is told that the FDNY was notified about the fire around 2:30 p.m.

No one was hurt, though the effort to extinguish the flames was intense and took several hours.

Back in October, News 12 covered a fire on the same block, also at an auto parts junk yard. It is unclear at this time if the two locations are the same.
