Police step up search for Bay Shore man missing for nearly a month

Police are stepping up the search for a Bay Shore man who has been missing for three weeks.
Gontran Jacques, 27, hasn't been seen since late last month.
He called his family to say he landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Oct. 28 and said he would be taking an Uber to his Bay Shore home, but he never showed up.
Jacques called a family member to say that he was going upstate instead. But his stepmom and father say they do not know who he is with and they want to know why he's not responding to their messages.
His family says Jacques has serious medical issues. Marie Jacques says her stepson recently had knee replacement surgery, he has hemophilia -- a condition that prevents his blood from clotting and can lead to joint swelling. His parents are concerned that he might not be getting the right care.
Jacques is described as Haitian, 6 feet, 3 inches tall, approximately 300 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who may have seen Jacques is asked to call Suffolk police at 631-854-8352.
