A video that is now gone viral shows a woman allegedly attacking two men at a subway station in Manhattan, apparently without being provoked.
Lamar Lockwood and Douglas Bond tell News 12 they are still feeling scared. They say a blonde woman attacked them as they were coming home from Thanksgiving celebrations upstate.
They say they were walking down the stairs at the Columbus Circle Subway station in Manhattan when the woman pushed through the men and threw her hands in their faces.
Once they realized she was yelling at them, Bond says he started recording. The video has grabbed the attention of lawmakers and has been viewed more than 1 million times on Twitter.
In the video, you can see the woman seemingly following the two men as they try to get away from her. She continues to yell derogatory terms at them and then proceeded to stick her middle finger in their face.
The woman is then seen rolling up her hat and hitting them with it. They tell News 12 that they remained calm while it was all happening.
Both of the men attempted to file a police report at the 44th Precinct, but they tell News 12 that they were denied the ability to do so.
News 12 has reached out to the woman in the video, but she wishes not to comment at this time.
Police told News 12 that officers at the 44th precinct classified the incident as harassment after reviewing the video. But that initially when Bond went to file the complaint he became uncooperative once he learned the complaint would not be filed as a hate crime
Council woman Vanessa Gibson has commented on twitter saying, "It was upsetting and deeply disturbing to see this video. Our office has been in contact with the 44th Precinct who received the complaint."
