A youth center in Darien was converted into a pop-up toy shop for families in need.
Volunteers gathered to set up shop at the Anderson Youth and Community Center.
The annual event is organized by Person-to-Person and aims to provide new toys, books and board games to families in the program who are in need during the holidays.
Staff and volunteers will be distributing toys Thursday and Friday.
Every December, Person-to-Person opens its Holiday Toy Store, a festive pop-up holiday shop where client families select a free toy, book and board game for their children for the holidays. Nearly 2,000 children benefited from the pop-up toy shop last holiday season, and Person-to-Person anticipates even more this year.
