Police say a suspect is wanted for fatally shooting a driver along the I-80 Saturday.
They say the shooting happened around 12 a.m. at the mile marker 64.4, right around the exit for Lodi.
The driver was who was shot and killed was identified as Louis Perez, of New York City.
Police say Perez was in a black Honda Civic with someone sitting next to him. That's when they say another car pulled alongside and starting shooting while the two cars were in motion.
Perez was fatally shot while the passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Authorities say they are also trying to determine why the driver was targeted.
They are asking help from anyone who may have been driving around that stretch of Route 80 westbound at the time of the incident.
Police say if the suspect took the closest exit to the scene, which is Essex Street, it's possible they were caught on surveillance cameras by nearby businesses.
The name of the second victim who was hospitalized has not been released.
