The Better Business Bureau (BBB) says scammers are posting fake census jobs online and then asking to be paid for applications or training.
Federal agencies say they don't charge for application fees or training. They also say they never ask anyone to buy any equipment they may need.
The BBB is also alerting job seekers to be wary of scammers asking for personal and banking information for a credit check or to set up direct deposit.
