With car thefts on the rise over the last year according to the NYPD, what are some ways drivers can make sure your vehicle stays unharmed?
According to recent NYPD data, grand larceny auto has increased 72.5% from January 2019 to January 2020.
The NYPD Patrol Borough Bronx warns Bronx residents first and foremost to avoid leaving your car running or leaving keys in the car.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says drivers should close all windows, lock your doors, try to park in well-lit areas and don't leave valuables in the car.
