Residents in Windsor Terrace are fired up over a developer's plan to put up a 13-story luxury apartment building.
Members of the community stood with signs to protest the 13-story shadow that may soon be cast on their neighborhood. Many voiced their concerns that it would negatively impact the neighborhood and affect their quality of life.
The area that borders Ocean Parkway has been a hotbed of activity, with construction and an abundance of traffic.

“We need a real plan for that section of the neighborhood so we don't see a piecemeal of putting up new buildings without any master plan,” says Robert Carroll, who represents the 44th Assembly District.

Neighbors tell News 12 they worry that this potential influx of apartment buildings will change Windsor Terrace in more ways than one, and fear middle class families are the ones ultimately being pushed out.

Building developer JEMB Realty put out a statement reading in part, “It is our sincere hope to construct a project that will add to the existing fabric of the community."
Residents claim the developer has another idea in mind if his proposal for an apartment building falls through - to build a hotel that’s 18 stories high.
