Small business in Park Avenue temporarily close due to coronavirus
Signs were posted in the front of two businesses Wednesday telling customers that the doors will be closed for the week due to the coronavirus.
Park Asia Buffet on 8 Avenue, along with Bamboo Garden the next block over, are both often used for anniversaries and birthday parties, along with cultural events.
Though the temporary closings were following the tips of health officials to avoid large gatherings, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is saying that the virus will have vast effects on various industries.
In response, the chamber is implanting a task force to monitor different industries, such as small retailers, restaurants, bars and non-for-profit organizations in the wake of the virus.
“We are going to track this information overtime so that we can use this information to inform our policy makers, our legislators and the general public about what we can do to support these businesses over the long haul,” said Randy Peers, the CEO and president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
Peers told News 12 that he does know that many of these businesses are temporarily closing its doors because of the declines in customer volume, as people are being told to avoid large gatherings.
