The family of a 17-year-old girl is seeking justice after the NYPD says she was the victim of a hit-and-run.
Aniyah's mother, Antwana Powell, says her daughter was hit by a car Saturday night and a woman, she believes to be the driver, got on her daughter's phone and spoke to the victim's boyfriend on FaceTime.
Powell says her daughter's boyfriend got to Laconia Avenue and East 222nd Street and found Aniyah on the ground, with no driver in sight.
She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center from her boyfriend's home. The family says the terrifying experience has been amplified because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Police say Aniyah was crossing in the crosswalk when she was struck and that they have no description of the driver as of Monday night.
