Those working on the site tell News 12 say it will be a medical facility but are waiting on confirmation to see if it will be a field hospital or testing site.
Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz says he is aware of a field hospital being set up here and that he believes it's being done in conjunction with Montefiore Health Systems.
At this point, he also tells News 12 that he isn't sure if it will treat COVID-19 patients or not.
A 68-bed field facility in Central Park is currently treating COVID-19 patients in the park's east meadow across from Mount Sinai Hospital.
