Police say a 22-year-old Bronx man was found dead inside his home in what his stepfather described as a gruesome scene Monday morning.
They say the incident is now being deemed a homicide. Javon Sealy’s stepfather made the discovery of his body at 1998 Clinton Ave.
"I came to check on him, he was unresponsive, I called an ambulance,” said Sealy’s stepfather, Gregory Bauldrick.
He said he kicked Sealy’s door down because he sensed something was wrong. He said he then found Sealy in the basement, wrapped in a sheet with a lot of blood on the floor.
"It's hard for me to accept that he's gone. I'm asking the community if you know anything or heard anything, please come forward so you can help the family rest and we can be at peace," said Bauldrick.
Sources say Sealy was found with his hands tied behind his back, a piece of clothing around his neck, and a puncture wound to his abdomen.
Bauldrick said Sealy was working for Capstone Logistics and did not deserve to die like this. "He doesn't bother nobody, he was a very good kid,” said Bauldrick.
He also said the home Sealy was living in was in foreclosure, and he believes renovations were being done.
The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of Sealy's death.
The investigation is being conducted by the 48th Precinct. The victim's family is now trying to figure out what the funeral arrangements will be.
