A man is recovering from a gunshot wound after trying to break up a fight between two other men in Kingsbridge Heights.
The 66-year-old victim tells police he was trying to stop a fight inside his building when he was shot.
Authorities say the incident happened on May 26 around 4:30 a.m. inside an apartment complex on Sedgwick Avenue and West 197th Street.
News 12 told two men were arguing when the 66-year-old man tried to get in between, but that backfired. The victim told officers he was shot in the leg before the gunman took off.
Police say the victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for his injury.
