Demonstrators rode through the streets of Brooklyn Sunday for a “rollout” in support of Black Lives Matter.
Dozens of protesters rode on bikes, roller skates and skateboards from Grand Army Plaza to the LeFrak Center at Lakeside.
Organizers say the rally was meant to focus on Black women who have lost their lives to violence and hate crimes, including women in the LGBTQ community.
"We are fighting for all Black lives, but there are so many women, trans women, who don't make the cut who aren't being fought for and we wanted to offer something like that," says organizer Amy Collado.
The protest started with a reading of names of women who have died, followed by a moment of silence.
Organizers say the rollout is another way for demonstrators to express themselves in this movement. They say they plan to continue holding protests to support all Black lives.
