High school students in Brooklyn are pushing for change after the death of George Floyd.
Students at Brooklyn Collegiate Preparatory started a task force that meets weekly online. More than 100 people showed up online and told News 12 it lasted almost two hours.
The group says they have big goals. "The ultimate goal is to most likely change the curriculum ... I feel like a lot of the textbooks they don't really tell history. It gives you some insight in history but not everything,” said group member Kiarria.
They also created a video featuring different students, teachers and political leaders.
The task force is also prompting a social justice group after school, which will start up in September.
"We just want to change our community as a start,” said group member Jada.
