BROOKLYN - After sustaining severe damage during Superstorm Sandy, the Coney Island Museum has finally reopened, just in time for the summer season.

The new and improved landmark on Surf Avenue and West 12th Street boasts five rooms and lots of amusement park treasures, including fun house mirrors, former rides and old beach canteens.

There are also two new exhibits. One is a 3D model of the original Luna Park and the other is called "The Dark Side of Dreamland."

Damage from the storm forced the museum to close 18 months ago. The nearly 100-year-old museum has since underwent $1 million worth of renovations, all funded by the city's Department of Cultural Affairs.

Admission costs $5.
