Victim speaks of terrifying attack inside Bronx apartment building
The owner of a Chinese restaurant in the Bronx was attacked and robbed inside his apartment building, police say.
The incident happened on April 20, inside the vestibule of an apartment building on Gerard Avenue and East 158th Street around 3 p.m.
Police say two teens waited for 41-year-old Shengwang Chen, the owner of Happy Wok Chinese restaurant, to leave the building before they both attacked him inside a lobby area and demanded money.
The teens placed Chen in a chokehold and punched him in the face in video released by police.
Chen can be seen handing the teens $20 before they both ran away.
His daughter spoke as a translator for him and says he ran into the street and found someone to call 911 after the attack.
Police are looking for two men in their teens.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
