BROOKLYN - Prospect Park will be buzzing with activity today as Brooklyn families celebrate Columbus Day.

The Audubon Center is opening its doors with free admission from noon until 4 p.m., giving kids a chance to learn about the wildlife that calls the park home. The carousel will also be running for just $2 a ride.

All public schools, government offices, court houses and the DMV are closed for the holiday. Drivers also get a break from alternate side parking, which is suspended.
