CONEY ISLAND - Director Amy Nicholson says she tried to capture a piece of Brooklyn's history in her new documentary.

Nicholson's film "Zipper: Coney Island's Last Wild Ride" explains why the ride was torn down in Coney Island.

Nicolson calls the Zipper a piece of her childhood and wishes the next generation could have experienced those same thrills.

"I just wish my grandkids had the chance to ride that ride," she says. "I know they would have loved it."

Nicholson's film is playing at the IFC Center in Manhattan and is available on iTunes.
