238ds agoA 13-year-old boy from Shelton was among the first in line in the state to get vaccinated against COVID-19 today.
After some pre-shot jitters, Matthew Loiz said he is excited to have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
"It's just nice I could finally get the vaccine, and COVID could finally go away, and get back to normal sooner rather than later," Loiz says.
He got his first shot this morning now that emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine has expanded to adolescents 12-15.
"Look, we got a little bit of work to do with the younger demographic," Gov. Ned Lamont said at a news conference Monday.
The expansion comes as the state is still trying to get teens 16 and older vaccinated - teens like 17-year-old Nick Katsetus.
"At some point, I was kind of questioning it, but I think overall it's the right decision for me," Katsetus says.
