A man has been sentenced for the fatal shooting of a teenager in Port Jefferson.

Joseph Garcia, 20, will spend 40 years to life behind bars after being convicted in April.

Prosecutors say Garcia shot David Bliss twice in the abdomen on Main Street in March 2021 following an argument.

Surveillance footage and audio shows Garcia admitting to the shooting, joked about it and made plans to flee arrest.
