Newark man sentenced to 13 months in prison for stealing unemployment benefits

A former postal employee from Newark has been sentenced to 13 months in prison for his role in unemployment fraud.
Authorities say in 2020, Khaori Monroe and others stole unemployment benefits while working at USPS.
Over $40,000 was stolen from credit and debit cards containing benefits, according to authorities.
In addition to the prison sentence, Monroe must also pay back over $50,000.
