A deer was rescued after getting stuck in a net in Shirley.

The Strong Island Animal Rescue League showed up to help the buck, which was in distress on the old Dowling College campus.

The group says the buck had one antler missing, and another caught was in the net.

Rescuers cut away enough of the net to set the deer free.
