A 12-year-old Boy Scout is recovering Tuesday after a scary encounter with a bear while camping at Harriman State Park.
Henry Ayers was camping with his troop when a hungry bear tried to go through their food.
The bear approached the tent and bit him through his sleeping bag. The bear then dragged him before his friends were able to help scare off the animal.
"I thought I was still asleep," says Ayers. "I can barely even remember it now because it was dark out and it was a black bear so it was dark. I could only see its face."
Ayers says he had to get a rabies shot and had other minor injuries.
