STORM WATCH: Severe thunderstorms possible Thursday, sunny weather returns for weekend

News 12 meteorologists say a series of scattered and severe thunderstorms is expected through Thursday early afternoon and evening as two fronts impact the area. The greatest risk is for damaging gusts of over 50-60 mph in severe thunderstorms.
Hail up to an inch in diameter is also possible in addition to an isolated/stray tornado in the tristate area. Although these impacts are not promised for the Bronx or Brooklyn, conditions are signaling for this possibility.
TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy, turning humid, lows from the mid-60s to the low-70.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with afternoon showers and storms (some storms may become strong to severe). Highs from the mid- to upper-70. At night, a chance of evening storms, followed by partial clearing. Lows from the mid-60s to the low-70s.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, highs from the upper-70s to the mid-80s. Winds northwest 10 to 20 mph and gusty. At night, clear and cool. Lows from the low- to mid-60s, winds northwest from 10 to 15 mph and relaxing overnight.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, highs from the mid-70s to the low-80s. At night, partly cloudy, lows from the low- to mid-60s.
SUNDAY: Increasing clouds and a chance of late day showers and storms, highs from the mid-70s to the low-80s. At night, partly cloudy, lows from the low- to mid-60s.
MONDAY: Sun and clouds, highs from the mid-70s to the low-80s.
