25ds agoOfficials announced the need for more lifeguards at Connecticut state parks this summer amid a statewide shortage.
Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz and other local officials held a meeting at Silver Sands State Park to recruit lifeguard positions for Connecticut state parks.
The state is looking to fill 60 lifeguard positions serving at least eight state parks across Connecticut.
The state offers paid training and free certification with competitive pay of $16 per hour.
