Rockland teen sentenced for 2021 fatal drunk driving crash

A Rockland teen was sentenced to 16 months to four years in state prison as a youthful offender Thursday in connection to a fatal accident that occurred May 2021.

A Rockland teen was sentenced to 16 months to four years in state prison as a youthful offender Thursday in connection to a fatal accident that occurred May 2021.
Alan Mendoza pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular manslaughter.
According to the prosecutor, Mendoza had a blood alcohol level almost twice the legal limit and marijuana in his system the night of the crash on Congers Road.
Mendoza’s 16-year-old passenger was killed, and another passenger suffered serious injuries. 
Mendoza was remanded as he begins to serve time for his crime.
