Nuclear Regulatory Commission doesn't respond publicly to Indian Point lawsuit
The federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission says it is not responding publicly to a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James' over the dismantling of the Indian Point power plant.

As Indian Point begins the countdown to complete dismantling, Westchester County Executive George Latimer says he's very concerned about those who live in Buchanan and Cortlandt. He says if anything fails during the process, people will suffer.
The N.R.C. approved the sale of the plant to New Jersey-based Holtec International in November.
The process will reportedly cost $2.3 billion.
Latimer isn't convinced that Holtec has enough money in its trust fund to do the job safely.
State Sen. Pete Harkham says he's also very worried that the citizens who will be most affected by the dismantling process are being denied the chance to publicly voice their concerns.
The last reactor at Indian Point is scheduled to be shut down in April.
