A Long Island teen with Tourette syndrome has made it her goal to educate as many people as she can in an effort to break down the stereotype.

Rebecca Caron, of Patchogue, was diagnosed with Tourette's right before she went to high school.

Caron learned about the Long Island Tourette Association, which she says changed her life.

Caron says she came out of her shell and became a youth ambassador. She even went to Washington, D.C. to advocate and make a difference.

"I'm happy I'm able to speak up for people who don't want to," says Caron.
