1h agoA three-car crash in the Town of Wappinger left one woman dead.
Investigators say Katherine E. Woisin, 85, of Wappinger, was pulling out onto Route 9D from Alpine Drive around 10 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle going southbound. Woisin's car was then hit by another car in the northbound lane. The car was attempting to avoid the first crash.
Woisin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff's Office's Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Units says the primary factor appears at this time to be failure to yield the right of way on the part of Woisin.
